Radioactive Room

D & I finally agreed on a nursery color that would compliment a neutral jungle/safari theme. We decided to go with a color that I thought was named appropriately for kiddos, "Green Grapes". Who doesn't love grapes?? Well after D went through the effort of priming and then painting the room, it was night and all the natural day lighting was gone. So a thorough assessment would have to wait until sunrise. Well low and behold the next morning welcomed us with a rather unusual green glow to our room. As it turns out Green Grapes should really be called Killer Kiwi or something that would actually fit the color that it dries to. Not only does it kill your eyes while you're in the room (and make you highly anxious and agitated) it emanates its neon, radioactive-esque, color out into the upstairs landing, into the guest bath AND into our room. Not exactly the tranquil environment we were hoping for!

YIKES! Radioactive Room!!

I spent this past weekend scouring the metroplex for paint samples and new color cards. A new gallon of primer and 2 gallons of "lemon mint" later, we'll see how round two of the painting adventure goes.
